The 2008 Weblog Awards have begun their nomination process. I have already nominated Bacteriality.com for the Best Medical/Health Issues category and it does not need further nominations, however, you can all help by going to:

Best Medical/Health Issues

and clicking the little green "+" button under Bacteriality's entry to show support for this nomination.

Getting it on the ballot is the first step. Voting for the actual award comes later, if we succeed here. Sites that are nominated/win have had sharply increased traffic, so this is a prime opportunity...

Renee

(powers that be: would this be acceptable to post at the main MP site?)

Renee, I think this should definitely be posted on MP.com and on CureMy.

My X was number four.  I just love Amy's site and have recommended it to many people.  Don't know if they went and read anything, but that's their loss.

Just to "Re-Emphasize"  - Click the Geen X  to represent your support of the Nomination.  The nomination has already been made.

There are other posts below the first nomination of Bactriality that are inadvertantly  're-nominating' the site where the intent of the post is to add support to the nomination.

Here's an update on the Awards:

Finalists are scheduled to be announced Dec. 25th. If Bacteriality is on the ballot we will be able to vote from Jan. 2 through Jan. 10.

Thanks to all who supported this nomination! Bacteriality's score came in at over 90--well above any other nominee. :)

Keep in mind the stakes are much higher when it comes to the actual voting period. In 2006 the Medical category was won with approximately 1,100 votes. For 2007 the winner had approx 1,900 votes. It stands to reason that 2008's victor will need over 2,000--well within our cohort's reach, if we can muster the troops.

Thanks again and stay tuned...

Renee

Thanks Renee!  How impressive the score is now 95.  EASY to do, use word search with "Bacterialty" to make it even simpler!

I think the next highest score is 21 presently, let's keep Bacterialty in first place!!

LOve,

Thank you ladies! I'm glad you have discovered and joined this effort.:)

I would like to clarify that the nominations have ended. Increasing our "Score" at this point may (?) be a moot issue. The actual voting period has not yet begun so please make a note to check back here in the next couple weeks...

Thanks again,
Renee

At long last the Weblog Awards Finalists have been unveiled. Sadly, Bacteriality was not selected for this year's ballot.

Every step of the process helps to gain exposure, even the small step of mere nomination, and I want to thank everyone again for helping to nominate Amy's deserving work. Bacteriality had far and away more "entries" than any other competitor in its category!

Thank you all,

Renee
