On 10th August 2002 I spent a day at Disneyland with the family. For the first time in two decades I was able to 'stay alive' until the fireworks, and I realized something profound was happening. I had been testing antibiotics just a couple of weeks, although I had been on Benicar since May and on other ARBs for 3 years.

Here is part of what I wrote to Belinda on 14 Aug 2002:

My daughter has a school-friend visiting from England, and I have spent a lot of time out-of-doors over the last week. Over the weekend I drove to Irvine (4 hours), went to an open-air Weezer concert, spent Saturday at Disneyland and Sunday driving around Orange County. Rather than being sick-as-a-dog I have been right-as-rain on Monday/Tuesday. Clearly something has changed drastically.

Additionally, even at the end of the day in the sun at Disneyland I felt under no pressure. I was relaxed and comfortable. There were no neuro effects at all. I did measure a rise in my Blood Pressure, from 105/65 to 135/75 from beginning to end of the weekend.

The Science wasn't all that well developed by this point in 2002, and I was certainly exaggerating when I said "no neuro effects at all," but these events stick in my mind as the time I knew we "had pulled it off."  History in the making.

Somewhere about the start of August 2002, this week (or next week), 6 years ago - my MP anniversary:):)

Happy MP Anniversary, Trevor! And may you have MANY,MANY more!! How can I say thank you to someone who literally made it possible for us to truly live again. Also, as a parent, I can't even begin to put in words how thankful I am that my son MarkN, who has been quite ill for at least 15 years, now has hope for recovery and eventually the ability to lead a full life. I can't even type anymore.......the tears are flowing.

With much, much gratitude,

Adrianne

All together now:  (to the tune of Jingle Bells)

Jingle bones, Jingle bones,
---oops!  Wrong holiday,
Julia was a 60 year old
and this year 59---Yay!

She's been good, She's been brave,
with MP near and dear,
Now as Trevor promised her,
She's younger every year!

So, to a very inspiring lady, Happy Birthday Julia (slightly belated)

Hugs,
Jan
