Hi Folks,
Cool new forums.  I think this is helpful to be able to shoot the breeze or compare notes as well as get support.

I'm about a month into phase 1.  It's been managable for the most part, not alot different than the limitations I already had being basically homebound with the pain and fatigue.

My husband got notice a month ago that he is being transferred to another city in Texas...Austin for his job.  We have decided yet whether we are going as he is only now starting to look outside the company (has been looking internally for local jobs...big company!..H.P)

Anyway the timing seems impossible :( with being in phase 1 of the protocol..it's already added stress...especially with 2 boys in school to be concerned with not to mentioned selling and buying a new house.  If he sees nothing promising in the next 2 weeks than than will determine our decision for the need to move.  It's not like we can survive without his job!

best to all,
suecat

Hello Suecat,

I live in Austin.  It is a pretty nice city.  We have been here since Dec 97 and are very happy here.  We live south.  Robert R is also here so if you do decide to move, maybe we can offer you guidance on neighborhoods, schools etc.  I have been on the MP for 3 1/2 years and I am so happy that Trevor shared his knowledge.  Let me know if I can help you with anything.

Saj

How did the move work out, Sue?  We had to do this also when we were three months into the MP.  Almost a year later, we still don't have pictures hung on the wall and there is a small pile of unpacked boxes stacked together in the basement.  But we survived, managed our IPs pretty well, and it turned out to be a great decision to take this job as Martin is very happy at work.  But it was an exhausting year.  Moves take a lot of energy, don't they?

So how did yours go?  :)

Hey Juanita,

Can you believe I just saw this.  It's good on one hand very blessed by quick sale of old home and fairly fast find of new home.  (we were only at m-i-l's for 3 weeks)
Husband and son had to commute into city for those several weeks and they (especially husband) was showing real signs of wear.  I had to do triiple amount of normal business activites via phone and that was really hard because I get SOB bad just upon talking/exertion....had oxygen which was new to me and used it alot.

Later learned that I should have been using water bottle with O2 to mositen as after we got in I had a majore GI track flair major gas and major constipation ...still babying that. Digestion is my early lifetime weakness. Lost 10 lbs down to 110 on 5.61/2 frame - no good.

Anyway, have recoved for most part with GI and and learning to use pallatives and my toolbox to cope .  My nervous system (already sad shape) also took down slide  but am in process of having to nerologist becasue it's not a wax/wane thing it's a constante buzzing, unrelenting nerve pain...right side unilateral --- stuff has beed in decline before MP. I think the herx hit hard and just need to get my toolbox abit more buffered to move forward.

So it was tough--- to be completely transparent but we survived and God has blessed us with a good area to live in and i'm gearing back to return to Ph 2.  Another blessing-- found a much closer doc her will supervise me on MP.  So it's good!!:D

I have been chair bound/bed/house bound now but I have faith that things will improve given the time and God willing.;);););)

MY HUSBAND IS THE GREATEST!!!!

sue

Hi SueCat,

I'm glad your move went as well as it did.  I'd been thinking of you but had not heard how it went.  I was worried for you given the horrendous housing market.  We sometimes think we should be looking for a place less challenged by stairs, but love the woods we live among, and dread the whole ordeal of juggling selling and buying especially in the current crazy market.

I think those symptoms that settle in for a long time are sooo much harder to deal with than the more intermittent ones, no matter how severe.  My sympathies.  GI stuff is probably my worst, though pretty quiet at the moment.

Hang in there.  We moved four years ago, pre-MP (but doubtless not pre-Th1), and we STILL have boxes not yet unpacked.  They don't bother me a bit!

All best,  Dody
